Structural Steel Fire Protection
GRJ Contracting offers a range of structural steel fire protection options to protect your building’s structural steel if a fire occurs. When steel is heated to above 550°C, it loses its stability and capacity to bear loads, becoming dangerous and often life-threatening. The steel will then begin to lose strength and bend, ultimately leading to a structural collapse and highlighting the lifesaving need for structural steel fire protection.
We provide and apply a range of intumescent coating and boarded solutions specifically designed for fireproofing steel beams for your building frameworks. The reactive properties of such systems protect the steel from high temperatures generated during a fully developed fire. They are designed to provide structural integrity and fire protection of steel, subsequently complying with modern building design regulations.
