What is passive fire certification?
A passive fire certification is the process of certifying that a building is compliant with relevant fire regulations and in the event of a fire there is no risk for your building and its occupants.
How often should passive fire protection be inspected?
Your passive fire protection plays an essential role in protecting your building and its visitors, occupants or customers, which is why it should be kept in functional condition. We would recommend getting your passive fire protection inspected every six months or at the very least once a year.
Is a fire certificate a legal requirement?
Fire safety certificates are no longer commonly issued for businesses, however you are legally required to carry out a Fire Risk Assessment. If you are an owner, employer, occupier of a premises that isn’t a ‘single private dwelling or an appointed responsible person, you have the obligation to make sure a Fire Risk Assessment is completed by a competent person.
