This impressively spacious building allowed for GRJ Contracting to utilise a complete range of Nullifire and Firetherm passive fire protection solutions by applying intumescent paint to the structural steel framework and firestopping systems to compartmentalise all internal fire rated walls and floors to meet the stringent building design requirements.

Solution
Working with our product partners, Nullifire SC902 Fast Track, On-Site Intumescent Steel Coating was applied to the perimeter steel framework, a variety of Firetherm fire stopping products were used for internal compartmentation within the basement and the perimeter floor plate slab edge was protected using Siderise cavity barriers.
The building will see around 3,600 public servants from several government departments move in from mid-2020, including the HMRC and Department for Work Pensions (DWP).
